* Sunday, April 19, 2009 * Dearest main comms, sub comms, AS students and readers, as this financial AY is coming to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all main comms and sub comms for putting in their best effort in running Applied Science Studies Club and its events to ensure that the events were run smoothly and the participants had benefited from them. However, we need everyone to get involved in the upcoming Human Wheelbarrow Challenge this Friday. Do support our freshmen while they are competing with other schools for the fastest Human Wheelbarrow Challenge trophy. Reminder: OLs, you guys are highly encouraged to join your freshmen to their field trips next week. Officials involved in Week 0 Orientation are also welcomed to join the freshmen in their field trips. Kindly give your name to Grace Ke to confirm your attendence. To end off this post, I wish everyone all the best in their studies and I hope that you guys will forever remember 1 big family of ASSC AY08/09. PS: file size may be huge. * Friday, March 20, 2009 * Dear Freshman Freshmen Orientation Programme 2009 Congratulations on your successful enrolment into Temasek Polytechnic Applied Science School. It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to be part of the Applied Science School family. Applied Science Studies Club will be organizing a Freshmen Orientation Programme for you, which will consist of two parts: a 2-day, 1 over-night event from 14th to 17th April 2009, and follow-up activities from 20th to 24th April 2009. Attendance is compulsory as your student handbook, matriculation card and timetable will be issued during the event. Please register online at http://epoly.tp.edu.sg/tpapp/ This year’s orientation programme is planned in a way that is both fun while providing better understanding of your course of study by virtue of field trips planned for you (pending on your course of study) during the period of 20th to 24th April 2009. We have also lined up a series of games and activities, which includes an overnight programme whereby you are required to stay on campus for the night. During this period, you will be able to meet your classmates and adjust to the new environment. All safety measures and precautions will be in place to ensure your well-being throughout the orientation programme. We hope that you will have a fun and rewarding experience during the Freshmen Orientation Programme. Please report punctually on 14th April 2009, Tuesday at 8.30am at Temasek Polytechnic Applied Science School Blk 5, Concourse Level 3 and bring along your indemnity form and cash for your catered meals. (Please do not send it together with the enrolment package). Kindly refer to Appendix A for details of the programme. Things that are discouraged: Excessive cash/accessories/valuables Jeans – may restrict movement during activities and cause discomfort with perspiration No revealing attire for females No singlet for males* Monday, March 9, 2009 * * Friday, March 6, 2009 * Hi all participants of OLTC, Please be reminded of the following details: OLTC Date: 27 March '09, 9am to 30 March '09, 1pm. What to do before OLTC: Bring A2-sized newspapers (e.g. 'Straits Times' and at least 30cm in height when stacked), $20 for camp food and collect indemnity form at the ASc Concourse on 16 March '09, 12pm. The camp kit list for OLTC can be found below. ASc Orientation Leaders’ Training Camp (27th March 2009 to 30th March 2009) Camp-Kit List Please bring the following for the Training Camp: COMPULSORY ITEMS Personal medication kit (E.g. inhaler for asthma or other medication needed for personal use) A pair of track/sports shoes Water bottle (for personal use) Torchlight Poncho/ Ground Sheets/ Sleeping Bag Zip-lock bag (or any waterproof carrier bag to keep wallet + torch + handphone) A2-sized Newspapers (at least 30cm in height when stacked) RECOMMENDED ITEMS Change of sets of clothing for 4D3N (T-shirt, shorts, track pants, undergarment, jacket etc) Toiletries (Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste etc) Towels A pair of sandals Marker pen (coloured) Writing materials (pen , paper etc) Skirts, dresses and tight fitting clothes are not recommended.
